Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) is prevalent in Australia. It can cause great harms and commonly underlies many mental health issues. Why are we still finding it so difficult to talk about and where should the conversation begin? An exploration of some of the factors that may influence the way we respond to DFV.

Helping jurors make accurate decisions in sexual assault trials

Mistaken beliefs about sexual assault (e.g., victims are assaulted by strangers) mislead jurors to doubt evidence and convict the perpetrator in only 2% of sexual assault trials. In this talk we will discuss using psychology to support jurors to make accurate decisions in sexual assault trials.
