In 2027, the festival will be hosted 10 - 12 May.

About Pint AU

Pint of Science Australia is a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, supported entirely by volunteers.

Our festival elevates Australian research, connects researchers with the public in cities and regional/rural areas, highlights the amazing science in our own backyards, and challenges stereotypes around who can participate in and communicate research.

The goal is to make Australian research accessible, engaging, and meaningful to the public in a relaxed, everyday venue.

Our Annual Festival Events

The Pint of Science festival has been running in Australia for 12 years. In 2026, more than 4,000 tickets were sold across 70 events in 15 cities, featuring 130 speakers from 33 universities and institutes. 

Each night offered something different — from space and AI to climate science and mental health, all at your local pub. The festival is volunteer-run, which means everything from speaker selection to event coordination is organised by people who are passionate about science communication.

By doing outreach on this scale, the festival sparks ongoing discussions about the relevance and impact of science on people’s lives, and provides an important platform for science communicators to hone their skills and engage with the public.
