Eyes, Ears and Algorithms in Space

Galaxies are not uniformly distributed throughout space, they instead form structures such as groups, clusters, filaments, and voids. These structures together form the so-called "Cosmic Web". In this talk Trystan will explain how we observe this cosmic web and what we can learn from it.

Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are one of the most intriguing and mysterious astrophysical phenomena discovered in recent years. They originate from galaxies billions of light-years away, yet their exact nature and origins remain unsolved. Are they the signatures of neutron stars, the echoes of cosmic collisions, or perhaps something even more exotic?
In this talk, we will explore the science behind FRBs—how they are detected, what we have learned so far, and why they are revolutionizing our understanding of the universe.
