The 2026 Pint of Science Festival on the 18th-20th May was a roaring success! In the festival’s biggest year yet, we brought science out of the lab and into the pub for the 12th year running. We were joined by 4,000 attendees across 70 events in 15 cities, made possible by an incredible team of 130 speakers and 130 passionate volunteers from 33 universities and institutes. Excitingly, this year the festival ventured into new territory, with events expanding into Hobart, the Blue Mountains and Albury-Wodonga for the first time!
Each night offered something different, highlighting the amazing science in our own backyards — from space and AI to climate science and mental health. In some venues, attendees became participants, trading schooners for test tubes in practical demonstrations and testing their knowledge in pub trivia.
