The mission of Pint of Science Australia is to elevate Australian research in a fun and inclusive way by providing a platform (primarily through a national festival and other science-engagement activities) that build the public’s appreciation of research and fosters high-quality science communication.

From the Co-CEOs

As we launch this year’s Pint of Science festival, we are excited to bring you an event like no other—one shaped by the collective strengths of four Co-CEOs. With two outgoing and two incoming leaders working together, we are combining experience with fresh perspectives to make this festival better than ever.

This year is particularly special as it marks the final festival organised by Maria and Jin-oh as Co-CEOs. All of us at Pint of Science Australia want to express our deepest gratitude for their hard work and inspiring leadership in advancing our mission. Through their dedication, the festival has grown into the much-loved national event it is today, bringing fascinating research stories to communities across the country.

Our mission has always been to connect the community with real experts — researchers at the forefront of discovery. In a world increasingly filled with misinformation, this mission has never been more important. We believe that by fostering curiosity and open conversations, we can help bridge the gap between research and everyday Australians, making science accessible, engaging, and relevant.

Earlier this year we revamped our strategic plan to ensure we continue growing in impact and reach. But our values – respect, inclusion, belonging, collaboration, accountability, and support - remain at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to celebrating diverse voices in research and making sure everyone, no matter their background, can participate in the conversation.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the dedication of our incredible volunteers. Pint of Science Australia is powered by hundreds of passionate individuals who pour their time, energy, and enthusiasm into making this festival happen. Their hard work—along with the support of our sponsors and partners—ensures that we can keep bringing science out of the lab and into the pub.

To all our volunteers, sponsors, speakers, and audience members—thank you for being part of this journey. We hope you enjoy this year’s festival as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to life.

Cheers,

Maria Roitman, Jin-oh Choi, Brett van der Leest and Anna Oszmiana
