Decoding neck pain
Daniel English
(La Trobe University)
Chronic neck pain isn't associated with arthritis, disc bulges, or nerve problems. In fact, there's barely any difference in physical structure (hardware) between people with pain and those with none. How we sense and use our spine (software) is fundamental, and the key to long-term results.
Bystanders saving lives – ‘Call, Push, Shock’
Brian Haskins
(La Trobe University)
Each year in Australia there are over 26,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests and at present only 13% survive. However, if bystanders ‘CALL’ 000, provide hands-only CPR ‘PUSH’, and ‘SHOCK’ using a public access defibrillator before paramedics arrive, the survival rate increases by 43% to 56%.
