Scaling Reef Restoration and Adaptation on the Great Barrier Reef
Kevin Erickson
(Australian Institute of Marine Science)
The Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP) is a global leader in coral reef restoration and adaptation research and solution deployment. RRAP is centralised on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and is the world’s largest effort to help a significant ecosystem survive climate change. This talk is about how we are implementing and scaling these solutions to the Great Barrier Reef.
Time to give a flip about turtles!
Rebecca Diggins
(James Cook University)
What is so special about turtles anyway? If they’re important then why are they at risk of extinction? What can be done to help prevent them from becoming extinct? These are just a few of the questions I will be covering in this short turtle talk. Some people may think turtles are overrated but they actually perform key ecosystem services that we rely on for a healthy planet. Come along and find out why we all need to give a flip about turtles before it’s too late and what you can do to help!
