Who cares for the carer?

Older carers (50+) of older adults (65+) have dual challenges with addressing the role of caring as well as ageing. Our presentation discusses a novel co-designed service designed and implemented to address the often forgotten health and wellbeing needs of carers.

"How do you know they see that?" (Helping people access dementia-friendly eyecare)

Up to 1 in 3 people living with dementia may experience some level of sight loss, often caused by problems that can be picked up on a routine eye test. People living with dementia miss out on eye tests and timely treatment for sight-threatening eye diseases. Come along and hear about how eye tests can be adapted to accommodate dementia, and why this matters.

Autism and schizophrenia: poles apart?

Autism and schizophrenia co-occur more often than expected by chance. Why should this be? What does this mean for our understanding of the conditions? And what impact does this have for people when they need mental health treatments?
