There seem to be no shortage of headlines proclaiming that a drink or two may be good for your health. But are these findings too good to be true? And what factors should you consider when making decisions about your own drinking?

Rachel is undertaking a PhD examining alcohol–long-term health relationships, with a focus on untangling causation from association. In 2021 she won the people’s choice award for the University of Sydney’s visualise your thesis competition.

Inflammation, the brain, and mental health

Hayley will describe how mental health is a product of physical brain health and discuss her latest research linking inflammation to brain structure and function.

Dr Hayley North is a postdoctoral researcher at Neuroscience Research Australia and founder of Understand Your Brain, where she runs seminars and workshops using the latest science to empower people to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
