Pint of Science Australia is back in 2024! The festival’s engines are up and roaring for this year’s festival held from the 13th to 15th May. But this time, bringing scientists, researchers and experts from all over Australia into the local pub isn’t the only reason to celebrate. 2024 marks the special occasion of Pint of Science Australia’s 10th Anniversary.
Across 12 cities, our expert volunteers will be bringing the latest on cutting-edge science to the local; touching on topics including coral preservation, asexual reproduction, mycology, biotech, black hole cartography and so much more; each topic an exciting and unexpected insight into the world around us.
Attendees will learn, laugh, gasp and ponder the groundbreaking and often unbelievable research that occurs in Australia’s universities and research institutions. Pint of Science AU is thrilled to continue breaking down barriers to accessing premiere science; all for cheaper than a Pint.
Of the 10-year anniversary, Pint of Science Australia Co-CEO Jin-Oh Choi said: “Pint has been at the forefront of showcasing some of Australia’s best scientists. We’ve brought science to everybody, not just those in a classroom or lecture theatre.”
Pint of Science Australia Co-CEO Maria Roitman said: “Pint is all about meeting with your mates, bonding over curiosity and finding out new things. From the academia side, there are not enough opportunities for researchers to connect to the public, so facilitating these succinct presentations that talk to people’s interests in research is really rewarding.”
