Where the Party At? Investigating the Use of New Drugs
Dr Richard Bade
(ARC DECRA Research Fellow, University of Queensland, Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences)
This presentation will show how wastewater analysis can and has been used to investigate the use of new drugs around the world. Particular focus will be given to a recent project where samples were collected from 16 countries over the New Year period.
Richard Bade completed his PhD in 2016 in Spain before moving to Australia to undertake postdoctoral studies. He received a prestigious ARC DECRA fellowship in 2022 to continue his research on the detection and identification of new psychoactive substances in wastewater.
