Join Pint of Science at the Paddo Tavern as we learn about food security and the health of the soil we grow our crops in. The evening includes a pub quiz where you'll have the chance to win Pint of Science swag. While the function room opens at 7pm, we encourage you to stop by the Paddo early for dinner -- they're open all day and have a great menu. Please note this event is 18+. This venue is wheelchair accessible.

Soil is essential for growing food and filtering water, but it forms about 1000 times slower than we are depleting it. In this talk, I’ll present ways to create new soil from wastes to address a growing global soil shortage.

Food security links directly to productivity, reliant on growing healthy food alongside a myriad of disease-causing organisms. Fungi impact population health more than conflict causing starvation and madness.
