Pint of Science 2021 is here - and with so much on, we have decided to put on a special event just to tell you about all the fun things to expect this year!

Join our co-CEOs, Jirana Boontanjai and Dr Tom Carruthers, as they chat with the volunteer team about the various activities on this year. We'll get a closer look at this year's artwork, and meet some of our volunteer crew who have put together this year's festival and hear how much goes into preparing the range of exciting activities this year.

Live tours

Join us from the comfort of your own home as we pull back the curtains on the secret lives of scientists.

On 18, 21, 25, and 28 May, we will follow our scientists as they reveal their world to us in exclusive live tours. Streaming live, our chat will be open for your questions about their workplace, research field and even their hobbies! You can also ask your questions on Twitter during the stream using #PintAU21.

The Big Pint Show

Introducing The Big Pint Show - a brand new pint-size trivia segment designed to peek into how some of Australia's most science-y minds think. Co-hosted by some stunning guests, this segment will feature three teams of researchers from across Australia testing their mental muscles on all kinds of science questions and brain teasers.

Panels

This year, we've moved the talks you know and love online, so you can watch the speakers from the pub you’ve been to most this year: your living room. Join us for six moderated panel discussions where we'll hear from researchers across the country. Topics range from immunology to astrophysics to psychology to climate change.

Pint Takeover

For the last few years, we've partnered with podcasters and radio presenters to record unique Pint of Science interviews throughout the month of May. From the comfort of your home, office, or daily commute, you can tune in to hear the latest in scientific research.

Trivia

Play as an individual, a household, or gather a bunch of friends to catch up and compete. Last year, we saw some online collaborations between friends and family members in different states. You could even get a team together at your local pub (restrictions permitting). We don't mind - just make sure you register!

Pod of Science

with Camille Thomson (Treasurer & Pod of Science lead)
Our volunteers are interviewing our researchers through the month of May sharing those discussions via our podcast series, Pod of Science. Get your headphones, grab your cat and snuggle up with the blankets as we discover more about what’s going on around us.

Mug of Science

with Ty Humphries & Nattai Borges (co-leaders of Mug of Science)
While you enjoy your morning cuppa, hear from some of Australia’s greatest minds and emerging scientific talents in their natural environment. That’s right - we caught them in cafes and on campuses.

We interviewed scientists from every career stage and got to know the people beneath the lab coats. Join us as we discover how their scientific journeys began and the work they are doing to benefit society.

#ThisIsMyScience & #ThisIsMyField

Pint of Science will still be bringing you research from around the country right to the comfort of your couch. Jump on your favourite social platform on the 17th May to hear about the work and stories of amazing Aussie scientists from around the country by following the #ThisIsMyScience and #ThisIsMyField hashtag.
